THE LENGTH OF ONE SIDE OF THE BASE OF THE GREAT PYRAMID:
Allusions to the Great Pyramid as an earth model by classical writers were explored by a New Jersey professor of ancient history, Livio Stecchini. He traced these back to the Greek philosopher, Agatharchides of Cnidus, guardian to the pharaoh in the second century BC. According to Agatharchides, the length of one side of the base of the pyramid was one-eighth minute of a degree latitude at the earth's equator (one-eighth of a nautical mile) and the apothegm (height) was 1/10 of a degree.
